Attention, attention: the Amsterdam Light Festival is happening right now! If you happen to be anywhere near Amsterdam, I recommend touring around the city for a bit. You don’t need to buy tickets for paid tours necessarily, you could also go by bicycle like I did. The festival started on November 27 and will end January 18.
Highlights of the Amsterdam Light Festival
On Monday evening, I decided to finally go and see some of the light installations around the city.I think it’s so cool how a little bit of light can make the city look so dreamy. I took a few photos of my favourite ones, so this post is like a preview of the highlights of the Amsterdam Light Festival.
It was very very windy and rainy, but still a lot of fun. I’m a big fun of artsy events that can transform the city in different places! By the way, I’m not being a sissy about the winds, they even “cancelled” some of the artworks today because of “extreme winds”. Try to keep an eye on the weather forcasts if you plan to go soon!
I didn’t manage to take photos of every artwork in the festival, but I took too many to cram them all into one blog post. That’s no disaster, it just means I have a lot more pretty photos to show you. Want to see more highlights from the festival? Take a look at my second article right here, where I show you 12 magical photos of the Amsterdam Light Festival.
P.S. Happy Holidays to all of you!
Nice work, looks good. I’m too have to come back as did not manage to get all the photos i wanted and tripod is a must this time 🙂
Thanks! Yeah, I know what you mean. Lots of opportunities to take better photos next time if I bring my tripod 🙂
Nice pictures! Did you use a tripod, or just a steady hand? And any particular settings on your camera?
Thanks! Hahah, I actually forgot to bring my tripod, so I just had to use a very steady hand and a lot of patience 😉
Wow, beautiful pictures !!! Merry Christmas !
Thank you, Merry Christmas to you too! 🙂
